Chartres and its majestic cathedral

Just over an hour outside Paris, Chartres is a historical city most celebrated for its majestic cathedral. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cathedral was finished in 1220 and is a true masterpiece of French Gothic art. The city also offers charming streets and alleyways to explore, boutique shops to browse and plenty of traditional French cuisine to savor. And when you’ve had enough tranquility, you can easily arrange day trips into the French capital.
