I fell in love with Rocca Cilento when I first saw its medieval castle suddenly appear before me.
To this day I am still fascinated by this tiny ruined village on a Cilento hill near Mount Stella.
The Castle of Rocca Cilento allows one’s gaze to dominate the entire coastal arc from Cape Palinuro to Punta Campanella, embracing much of the territory of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park.
A place one cannot help but fall in love with.
Since 1119, when it is included in the fortified enclosure of the Sanseverino castle, although documents attest to its existence even earlier, around 963 and 994, the different properties, which followed one another over time, have changed and adapted the use and purpose of this historic residence. In 201ð it passed permanently into the hands of the Sgueglia family, former owners of Limatola Castle in the province of Benevento.
Today the Castle is a luxury boutique hotel surrounded by unspoiled nature but at the same time just minutes from the coast and the blue sea of Cilento.
