The municipal territory is included in the Majella National Park area, of which the town is the main access point.
The Terme di Caramanico spa, with its sulfurous and bromine and iodine-salt waters, rich in hydrogen sulfide, is particularly suitable for the treatment of rheumatic, nervous, respiratory, gynecological and digestive diseases, etc.
The picturesque village preserves in its territory two monuments of absolute artistic value: the church of S. Maria Maggiore (15th cent.), within the historic center, and the church of S. Tommaso da Caramanico (13th cent.), a few kilometers from the town.
From Caramanico T., there is also access to the Valle dell’Orfento Nature Reserve, an authentic naturalistic paradise. The Reserve rises from 500 to 2600 m. in altitude and, with its large beech forests crossed by numerous canyons full of water and waterfalls, is one of the wildest and most spectacular areas in the whole of Abruzzo. Excursions in the valley take from 2 to 8 hours, with routes of varying difficulty.
The area is also rich in hermitages set in rock.
