The Cape Wrath Trail runs for 378km along the ridge of the Western Highlands, allowing the walker to experience the many facets of nature in these places. The predominant terrain is heathland, both lowland and highland, but there are also rocky mountain environments, bogs and fens, coniferous woodlands, fjords and wide grasslands. Compared to the West Highland Way, the landscape appears more barren and severe, but also more spectacular. Cape Wrath is the place where the Highlands fall into the sea, the end of a grandiose journey, made difficult by rain, wind and snowy mountain passes, but able to offer unforgettable views and emotions that fill the soul.
Cape Wrath, the last strip of land before the vastness of the ocean. Beyond, only ice.
