The Capanno Garibaldi Museum
After the fall of the Roman Republic, Giuseppe Garibaldi arrived in Cesenatico, passing through Terni, Todi, Orvieto, San Marino. Here he embarked with 250 men out of 13 bragozzi determined to reach Venice.
Intercepted by the Austrians, he landed 8km from Magnavacca (Palazza). After various displacements he arrived at this hut, from where he was taken to Ravenna and Castiglione, Case Murate, Coccolia, Forlì, then to Tuscany and finally to Genoa, escaping the Austrians.
The hut, built in 1810 for hunting, was destroyed by a fire in 1911 and then faithfully rebuilt.
