The Camosciara Reserve was the first area of the Abruzzo National Park and was previously a hunting reserve of the King. To get there you must follow the road from Pescasseroli to Villetta Barrea, before arriving at Villetta turn right following the indication of Camosciara. The car must be left in the parking lot of the valley and must continue strictly on foot (or mountain bike), very nice for children is the transport service in a horse-drawn carriage.
The Camosciara is part of the zone A to integral reserve of the Park, constituted by mountains of limestone and dolomitic type that form a great arena.
Inside the reserve, in a basin immersed in the vegetation, there is the famous Camosciara path, probably the most frequented of the Park also thanks to its easiness, a 60/85 minutes path.
The path is marked as path G6 (see path map) and goes up to the viewpoint of Liscia at 1440 meters (where there is a refuge), the beauty of this area lies in the surrounding fauna made of beech woods and water courses.
The G5 path that starts from the same point of Camosciara leads in a very short time to the Tre Cannelle waterfall.
