The two pools at Hearst Castle are as luxurious as the mansion itself. The 32-metre-long Neptune Pool outdoor pool, equipped with an oil heating system, evokes Roman and Greek antiquities with marble statues of Neptune and the Nereids observing this water paradise from above.
The other pool, Roman Pool, is smaller and indoor and has the appearance of an old Romanesque bathroom with rich details such as cobalt blue and gold enamelled tiles or glass tiles. Take a look upwards to admire the complex mosaics depicting a starry night sky through the roof and dome. The pool is surrounded by eight marble sculptures of Greek and Roman gods and heroes, created by Italian sculptor Carlo Freter.
