The Cadillac Ranch is a monumental outdoor sculpture in Amarillo, Texas. Designed in 1974 by Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels, also known as Ant Farm, a group of hippie architects from San Francisco who decided to give form to a suggestion they had received from The Look of Cars, a children’s book dedicated to cars. The work consists of an array of ten scrapped Cadillac cars, placed in such a way as to give the impression of being planted in the ground.
