The "futuristic" new bridge is a true contemporary masterpiece, which connects the old town to the Petržalka district (former infamous district of the capital, now a residential area that houses, among others, the Faculty of Economics of the University); actually, its "real" name is SNP Most, acronym of Slovenské národné povstanie most, which means "Bridge of the Slovak National Uprising": in fact, it represents the memorial of the opposition to Nazism.
On top of the bridge there is also what many consider the real attraction of the work: the so-called "Ufo", an observation platform in the shape of a spaceship. The structure has inside a beautiful restaurant and a skybar with a splendid view of the Danube.
