The Botanical Garden of Padua, founded in 1545, is the oldest University Botanical Garden in the world that has preserved its original location and has maintained, practically unchanged, its original structure.
In 1997 the Botanical Garden of Padua was included, as a cultural asset, in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
