Bosnian coffee, a true specialty, is traditionally served by pouring it from a small bronze mug into a small cup called a fildzan. The coffee is also accompanied by a sugar bowl with lumps and some traditional Ottoman sweets called lokum. The consumption of Bosnian coffee is a real ritual, a hymn to conviviality, a bit like what happens in some parts of Southern Italy. In reality, it has nothing to do with Italian espresso, consumed in one gulp at the bar, but is sipped slowly, as if to represent the rather relaxed lifestyle, far from the typical Western one.
