Borsalino Hat Museum
Borsalino’s adventure began over 150 years ago. The Alessandria-based company today represents one of the most prestigious brands in the production of hats; over time it has become synonymous with Made in Italy and a flagship for the city of Alessandria in the world.
The Museum houses about 2,000 hats, chosen from over 4,000 in the collection, displayed in the historic Chippendale style wardrobes, made in the 1920s by Arnaldo Gardella for the Sala Campioni. The layout proposes a circular and thematic itinerary, made up of illustrative panels and videos that tell the story of hat making, the spread of hatters, the evolution of the hat industry from the 1800s to the present day, the development of the factory, patronage, the charitable works of the Borsalino family and its relationship with the city, as well as with the historic working women, "le borsaline".
