The Bora Museum is an absolutely brilliant non-place, which speaks of Trieste in the typical style of this city: without "puppets". If you are looking for a building with a large colonnade and a large staircase waiting for you, you will not find it. As a lady told us, while we were looking in vain for the entrance: "Cossa? Ghe xe a museum de la Bora? Mi no go mai sentiredo, ma se se trovè diseme". (What? There is the Museum of the Bora? I didn’t know, but if you find it let me know where it is)
In a slightly dilapidated building, in via Belpoggio 9, you will have to look for its name to ring the bell (visits only by reservation), the door will be opened and you will enter a small warehouse that contains a huge world.Photographs of the damage caused by this cold and impetuous wind, technical explanations of its birth and path, games of various kinds with a wind theme, closed empty bottles (actually full of wind) sent from every corner of the planet. Do you want to become wind ambassadors? Send the wind from your city and you will receive your diploma.
It’s all a mess, but it’s all genius: going to Trieste without booking a visit would be a crime.
