The Alto Cadore-Valle del Boite is a magnificent area of the Belluno Dolomites, which is characterized by its proximity to the famous Cortina d’Ampezzo: a valley, surmounted by the majestic Antelao, the second highest peak in the Dolomites after Marmolada, consisting of villages with ancient origins, linked to their traditions.
The Alto Cadore-Valle del Boite is made up of five enchanting villages:
San Vito di Cadore
It is the main centre of the valley and in this village you can visit the church of Difesa and the ethnographic museum;
Valle di Cadore
It is known for its ancient origins and for its beautiful old town centre with traditional Cadore houses alternating with Venetian style palaces;
Cibiana di Cadore
It is the town of the murals and of Reinhold Messner’s Cloud Museum on Mount Rite;
Vodo di Cadore
It is the town of taulà, the ancient barns typical of the local tradition;
Borca di Cadore
In this town you can admire the church of San Simone and the collections of the nature museum Olimpia Perini.
