Birthplace of Giovanni Pascoli

The house where Giovanni Pascoli was born has been a national monument since 1924. Numerous rooms preserve the furniture existing at the time of the poet. The house-museum preserves various Pascoli’s relics and historical testimonies such as: autograph letters, family photographs and autographs of illustrious visitors. The memory of the serene period spent in San Mauro by Pascoli is evoked in many poems with great nostalgia and affection, especially for the strong bond with the family and the attachment to their homeland.
