Best Sunsets| Dunnottar Castle

Dunnottar Castle is one of Scotland’s most evocative and fascinating ruined castles, and at sunset the castle glows in fantastically warm tones.¹ Perched on a sheer spur of rock, it defies the waves and winds on three sides and can only be reached by a steep path.\The panorama and the view make it a postcard landscape that adds to the fame of the place: in fact the castle was the scene of one of the bloodiest pages of the Scottish struggle for independence. Here the leader William Wallace lured with a stratagem an entire English garrison that was entirely burned alive.
