The name Hieranto derives from the Greek "Hieros", that is "sacred": near here, at Punta Campanella, stood the temple of the goddess Athena and here Homer places the Sirens who enchanted Ulysses.
Today the sacred atmosphere can still be breathed walking on waves of rock, in front of panoramas that open in a sudden blue.
