Bagnoli del Trigno, a small village surrounded by greenery, behind which stand the giant rocks that make a fantastic setting for a breathtaking view. Being located at two different heights, from 660 meters above sea level up to 783 meters at the highest point, the village is socially and culturally divided into two areas, respectively called Land below and Land above. Strolling along the streets that branch off from the historic centre to the entire village is like taking a real journey back in time. Bagnoli del Trigno is known in dialect as "La Preta" and is one of the most picturesque municipalities of Molise, so much so that it has been dubbed the "Pearl of Molise", since the town is built around a steep rock on which the ancient castle dominates. The origins of Bagnoli del Trigno (Vagnuolë in Molise) are unknown and can be traced back to several legends, according to which Bagnoli was founded by a Duke who drank in the waters of the Trigno, in another with the construction of urban agglomerations around a hot spring (Balneoli, hence the name) and finally by some tribes to find shelter from barbarian invasions. The Church of San Silvestro, the San Felice Castle and the Pandetta di Sprondasino are definitely worth a visit.
