The Baci di Dama of Tortona have a golden color, a round shape and are characterized by a particular fragrance and delicacy. They are composed of two small oval or semi-spherical biscuits, joined by a disc of chocolate.
The ingredients are: almonds, butter, sugar, flour and chocolate.
The product contains no preservatives but is packaged in such a way as to maintain its fragrance for at least four months. The preparation consists in the refining (grinding) of almonds and sugar, which are then mixed with butter and flour. The mixture is then poured onto baking tins and cooked in the oven at 160°C for about 15 minutes. After baking, the Baci di Dama di Tortona are coupled with a drop of chocolate. Then they are wrapped manually in the traditional aluminium foil and packed in boxes.
