The Zeller See is 3.8 km long and 1.5 km wide, the maximum depth is 68 m. The water quality that is continuously monitored is excellent, it is equal to drinking water, as well as in many other lakes in Austria. Around the lake there are numerous bathing areas, the lake is ideal for practically all water sports. Water temperatures drop to 0° in winter and rise to 24° in August. Crystal-clear water, flower-covered alpine meadows and the eternal white of the glaciers – this is the spectacle that is shown in the Zell Am See Alpine region, where all the natural elements characteristic of Austria can be found, and in addition, a small town where you can enjoy the latest shops, old inns or historic buildings.
Eighty different hiking trails, refreshing baths and water sports at will in the waters of the neighbouring lake, perfect also for boat trips. Real summer activities, combined with winter activities such as skiing (in summer on the 3,000-metre glacier).
