A very long strip of sand that from the city reaches up to Fertilia, a small hamlet of Alghero. You can get there on foot from the Busquet walkway. Here, as early as 1862, the first bathing resorts were founded and today there are several of them, all well equipped. But what is surprising is the presence, a stone’s throw from the city, of fine and deep sand on which palm trees grow, junipers with large roots and beautiful lilies of the sand (an endemic protected species). Not to mention the clear-blue Sardinian sea and its gently degrading seabed, a boon for kids’ games. It is Alghero’s main beach, frequented by the Alghero people at any time of day: during lunch or after work, for an aperitif or for an evening walk. Follow their example and imitate these people; come here to act as lizards in the sun or soak in these wonderful waters until your fingertips wrinkle.
