Arminius Market Hall

Opened in 1891, this restored market hall offers local food, crafts & art, plus activities & events. The first impression of the Arminiusmarkthalle is often: did the architect perhaps prefer to build a church? Ornate arches, cast iron floral motifs on the columns, a basilica-style window gallery with Gothic-style arched windows. But if you look down, you can see numerous traders who offer their goods with gestures and noisily. The Armininiusmarkthalle was opened in 1891. It was badly damaged in World War II and restored in the 1950s. In 1990 the facade was restored and in 1996 an extensive interior restoration was carried out, taking historical stylistic elements into account. Today the Arminiusmarkthalle is a listed building.
