In Arkhangelsk, Russia, stands the 144ft tall wooden building. Built by a one-time “gangster”, the building is 13 floors high and it’s half the size of the tower of Big Ben in London. The Wooden Gangster House is believed to be the world’s most tallest wooden building. Built by Mr. Sutyagin and his family, the building’s construction began in 1992 and lasted over 15 years. After Sutyagin was sent to prison for four years because of blackmailing money, the building was condemned by the city as a fire hazard and the demolishing began in 2008.
