The historic centre of Aranjuez has been declared a Historical-Artistic Complex, as it is a singular example of Baroque urban development. Designed in 1747 by Giacomo Bonavia, from the very moment of its birth as a city, it was conceived as a noble space that was to house buildings of high standing. Large houses with patios, domes, palaces, convents, balconies, squares, spacious streets… represent the testimony of four centuries of history.
