The Antro del Corchia Tourist Cave is the main attraction of the Corchiapark, the main tourist system of Alta Versilia, which offers the possibility to experience the mountain in all its aspects. On Mount Corchia, in addition to the tourist cave, you can visit the ancient mines of Silver Live, trekking along beautiful trails. The tourist cave Antro del Corchia today represents the largest known underground environment of Italy and one of the largest of the continent.
It is a complex of tunnels, wells and halls dug by water over millions of years inside the marble heart of Monte Corchia.
To date, about 70 km of caves have been explored and mapped and 20 different entrances have been made from each side of the mountain, but the explorations are in continuous progress and spleleologists continue to relentlessly discover new halls and new beauties hidden in the marble.
The touristic route winds, through a steel walkway, for about two kilometres, passing through some of the most suggestive places of the cave, crossing woods of stalactites and halls tens of metres high.
The tourist visit to the cave presents the difficulty of a very light trekking.
