The Antica Farmacia Cartia is located on Via Francesco Mormina Penna, on the premises of Palazzo Spadaro.Characterized by the Art Nouveau style, this pharmacy was inaugurated on July 11, 1902, and over the years it has been transformed into a museum of great historical value, having obtained that status on April 6, 2014.Inside the museum, it is still possible to admire the original furnishings dating back to the early 20th century. One of the points of interest is the display case that holds the poisons, while the shelves are full of natural essences, ampoules, flasks, and various laboratory instruments.The Antica Farmacia Cartia is also known for its appearance in the film "The Hunting Season" and became famous as "Montalbano’s Pharmacy" due to its presence in the RAI television series "Il Commissario Montalbano" and "Il Giovane Montalbano." This pharmacy represents a place of great charm, where history and culture are intertwined, leaving an indelible imprint in the memory of visitors.
