The willow dome in the IGA Park Rostock is an open and freely accessible living structure. It is located at the north entrance to the park area and stands out due to its special design with willows. It is a place designed as a church and offers a unique atmosphere with romantically overgrown willows that meander around the architecturally appealing dome of the cathedral. It is considered to be the largest living structure in the world. According to the park, it was created by the architect Marcel Kalberer, his architectural group "Gentle Structures" and more than 600 volunteers from 13 nations. The Weidendom is used as a special venue for weddings, school events, readings, concerts and theater performances. This yeas a fire has severely damaged it.
