The beach of Schinias

Schinias Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and is located about 20 kilometers northeast of Athens, near the village of Marathonas.Schinias beach is about 4 kilometers long and consists of golden sand and pebbles. The crystal clear, shallow sea makes it an ideal destination for families with children, but also for lovers of water sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing, thanks to the strong winds that blow in the area.Surrounding Schinias beach is a vast pine forest, which provides shade and coolness during the hottest days of summer. The pine forest is also a great place to picnic or take a horseback ride along the paths through it.Schinias Beach has been declared a protected area because it is home to many species of rare birds and plants. In particular, the wetland near the beach is an important wintering site for many species of migratory birds.To reach Schinias beach, you can take a bus from Athens or rent a car.
