The Avenue of the Hundred Fountains is a long street that connects the Ovato Fountain to the Rometta, another beautiful fountain.

The entire avenue has about 100 fountains, developed in 3 planes, formed by lilies, eagles and obelisks, symbolizing the House of Este and allegorically tells the story of the course of the 3 rivers rising from the Tiburtine mountains, Albuneo, Aniene and Ercolaneo (represented by the 3 planes of the fountains) that flow into the Tiber River (symbolized by the Rometta fountain). 's entire avenue is paved with valuable antique marble in the ancient Roman style. Along the hundred fountains are flower beds in bloom, colorful and cheerful, which, together with the presence of trees and greenery, bring serenity and tranquility.

When you reach the middle of the avenue, a beautiful and wide balcony opens from which you can admire the Fountain of Dragons, accessible directly by a circular staircase.

The architectural style can undoubtedly be compared to the Baroque in its most embryonic version, so beautiful that it was chosen as the backdrop for some scenes of the colossal film Ben Hur and to have inspired some verses of Gabriele D'Annunzio's Roman Elegies.
