Mar Sarkas Monastery

Mar Sarkas is a monastery and കോൺവെന്റ് that was built before 325 AD, but the exact date of construction is unknown. This makes it one of the oldest monasteries in the whole of Christendom. The കോൺവെന്റ് സൈറ്റിൽ താങ്ങി നിരവധി പുരാതന ചിഹ്നങ്ങള് ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി from the fourth century. Within the community, there are a few nuns at the site who speak English. They are happy to take visitors സൈറ്റ് ചുറ്റും ഒരു ചെറിയ ടൂർ if ചോദിച്ചു. The church is also the site നിരവധി ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ that take place throughout the year, including the Festival of Mar Sarkas. This festival is held each year on October 7th.
