The world-famous Sardinian gnocchetti: Malloreddus are another delicious typical Sardinian pasta dish originating primarily in the Campidano area near Cagliari. It is a semolina pasta with a ridged shell shape generally flavored with saffron or vegetables. Despite their origin, today Malloreddus are replicated in different areas of Sardinia and even by well-known chefs, but the original Cagliari recipe is Campidanese - or Catalan - style with sausage ragout, tomato sauce, onion and grated Sardinian pecorino cheese to decorate.
