Unveiled in 1967, the carnival fountain is a comparatively young monument in Mainz. And yet it is now an integral part of the cityscape. With more than 200 figures from carnival and mythology, it is a symbol of the joie de vivre typical of Mainz.
On the Schillerplatz, on the opposite balcony of the Osteiner Hof, carnival is proclaimed every year on November 11th.
