Ålesund

Ålesund is a coastal town located in the western region of Norway, in the county of Møre og Romsdal. It is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Norway due to its Art Nouveau architecture and picturesque location within a fjord.The town was rebuilt in the Art Nouveau style after a major fire in 1904 destroyed much of the old town. The reconstruction was financed mainly by the fish trade Ålesund being an important fishing port. Today, the old town center is a popular tourist attraction due to its unique and well-preserved architecture.The city is surrounded by beautiful Norwegian nature, including the Giske Islands, the Runde Mountains, and the spectacular Storfjord waterfalls.
