The "Duca degli Abruzzi" Alpine Museum is on two floors: in the room on the ground floor where the Alpine Guides’ office is located, there is a relief map and a plastic model of the Mont Blanc massif, some old photographic prints and historical ice axes; in a showcase there are the books of the refuges and peaks containing the mountaineers’ notes and the guides’ booklets. Some of these are of particular historical importance as they contain the notes of the clients recorded on the occasion of the first ascents. Among the memorabilia of note is the pole used by the Courmayeur Guides (Grivel L., Pennard A., Ottoz A., Ottoz O.) in their attempts to conquer the South Ridge of Aiguille Noire by Peuterey in the 1930s.
