Al Husn Palace

Al Husn Palace is one of Salalah’s main tourist attractions, located in the historic part of the city. Built in the 1970s to be the residence of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the palace was converted into a museum and opened to the public in 2018.Al Husn Palace has been masterfully restored and retains the original appearance of the time when it was inhabited by the sultan. The interiors are decorated with high-quality materials, such as Italian marble, teak wood, and Murano crystals, and are embellished with artworks and luxury items.The palace is divided into several exhibition halls, which house objects that tell the story of Oman, the Al Said dynasty, and local traditions. Some of the most interesting pieces include Omani soldiers’ uniforms, a collection of ancient weapons, royal family jewelry, fine carpets, and traditional musical instruments.In addition, the palace is surrounded by a large lush garden, where coconut palms, exotic plants and a large fountain can be seen.
